WordPress and plugins are constantly evolving and improving. A care plan will keep your website software and plugins up to date with the latest versions ensuring they’re operating as they should while taking advantage of new technology and trends.
Daily Backups
Taking daily backups of your site means in the unlikely event that your website is attacked, or you make a change that breaks something, we can quickly get your site back online with minimal downtime.
Website Optimisation
A speedy, spam-free website is a website that is easy, appealing to use and looked on favourably by Google. So, your website’s performance will be regularly monitored and optimised to get rid of any ‘web junk’ and keep it running smoothly.
Security Scans
Website attacks do happen but security scanning checks for vulnerabilities allowing us to always be on the front foot if anything malicious pops up.
Uptime Monitoring
The servers that host websites do go down from time to time. Generally, it’s only for minutes while your hosting company is doing maintenance but I’ll be keeping a close eye on things to make sure it’s nothing more troubling.

How Website Care Plans Work
The brass tacks
- Plans are automatically billed monthly for the following month or annually so you don’t have to worry about your website not being covered.
- In the unlikely event something goes wrong and you need your website restored from a backup, you can get in touch via a dedicated support channel and I’ll get onto investigating or restoring your site with no charge for the first hour.
- If it’s taking longer than an hour to resolve, or you need your website restored from a backup more than once in a month, the hourly rate is $120 (with a minimum of 1 hour), but I will be sure to gain approval from you before proceeding.
- Care Plans provide preventative maintenance, so any development, technical, hosting or malware/security issues may be outsourced at an additional cost.
- While your website will be monitored 24/7, as the human behind your Care Plan, I will attend to any questions within 2 business days.
- If you want me to upload your blog posts, make minor design changes, edit text, add buttons etc. you might like to add on a block of hours to take care of your website laundry list.

Do I really need a Care Plan?
If you have a website, the answer is Yes.
Sadly, website hacking is common – you may have known of people who have had their website, Instagram or Facebook accounts hacked. This typically happens because security measures and regular maintenance haven’t been put in place.
Think of a Care Plan in the same way you regularly update your phone’s software or get your car serviced to make sure they are safe and secure.
Can I do it myself?
Yep, you can. All of my website design clients receive an Owners Manual* that details the weekly, monthly and annual tasks to complete to maintain their website. You just have to make sure you set yourself up with recurring reminders and actually do the maintenance tasks 😉.
*If you need another copy of your manual, just shout out and I’ll send one over.
Does a Care Plan guarantee my website won’t be hacked or go down?
While I do my darndest to ensure that your website is protected, no site on the internet is 100% secure from any breach, malware or hack due to the nature of servers and websites.

What happens if something goes wrong with my website or I break something?
If you get stuck I’m happy to assist with any website issues or content updates on an as-needed basis at an hourly rate of $120/hour with a minimum charge of 1 hour.
Do you offer Care Plans to websites you didn’t build?
Yes – I’d love to look after your website! If you have a WordPress website hosted with a reputable hosting provider*, reach out and let’s set you up!
Depending on how long it’s been since your website has been updated and maintained, you may be required to undergo a Website Spring Clean first to get your website back into good working order. A Website Spring Clean is $550.
*Not sure who your host is or if they’re reputable? Get in touch and we’ll do some detective work together and figure it out.
What’s your cancellation policy?
All plans require an initial three-month commitment, but after that, you are welcome to cancel at any time before the end of your billing cycle.
What if I decide to not go ahead with a care plan and my site gets hacked or something breaks?
You’re welcome to handle it yourself by reaching out to my preferred malware and blocklist removal specialists Sucuri.
Or, if you’d like to join a Care Plan and have me take care of getting things cleaned up and you back online, I have a $550 site cleaning/set up fee.
Please note: I only fix website hacks or issues if the site is also then added to one of my Care Plans.
And depending on the type of hack/breach and how long the site has been compromised, SEO rankings and blocklisting issues may take weeks or even months to resolve and in some cases will require more additional work to recover from.
