Meet Kathleen, founder of Halve Your Cake

Kathleen Johnson is a dietitian and the founder of Halve Your Cake, a weight-inclusive practice that offers both 1:1 support and self-paced online courses—particularly for people navigating gestational diabetes and emotional eating.

She’s passionate about helping people find practical, non-restrictive ways to care for themselves and their blood sugar.

But like many solo practitioners, finding the time to grow her digital presence alongside client work was becoming a serious challenge.

When DIY nutrition blogging becomes a roadblock

With two online courses already live, Kathleen was ready to scale her visibility and sales, but between client consults and preparing for maternity leave, she didn’t have the time or capacity to blog consistently or build out strategic email funnels.

She had been DIY-ing her content but knew she needed a fresh, objective perspective—and someone who understood the world of dietetics without needing a crash course.

Kathleen chose to work with me not only because I get the world of private practice, but because I bring both strategy and copy expertise to the table.

As a fellow dietitian, I already understood the nuance of her niche—so she could hand it over with confidence, knowing it would be taken care of.

How I helped Kathleen as her email and blog post writer

My early focus was simple but strategic: increase website traffic through SEO and convert more visitors into subscribers using her existing lead magnets.
I wasn’t just writing content—I was building the runway for long-term growth.

I did this through:

  • Funnel analysis, identifying missed opportunities and tightening her top-of-funnel pathways
  • SEO keyword research to identify blog topics that her ideal clients were actually searching for
  • Strategic blog post writing, with every post crafted not just for SEO and conversions, but to provide genuine value to her readers
  • Email sequence copywriting, blending nurture and sales messaging to drive more course interest
